A Cozy Airbnb Treehouse Wedding In Unicoi Tennessee. The Sheltons.

Elopement in the Mountains. Elopement in East Tennessee. How to have a wedding at an airbnb. East Tennessee Airbnb Elopement. Airbnb Elopement Venue. Elopement Inspiration. Treehouse Airbnb Weddings. Digital photos and 35mm photos. Film Photographer.

When it comes to planning a wedding, the desire for an intimate, personal, and unforgettable experience is on the rise. Elopements and small weddings in unique settings are becoming increasingly popular, especially here in East Tennessee. The Sheltons’ treehouse wedding was the perfect example of a romantic, fun, and picturesque celebration surrounded by nature in the heart of the Tennessee mountains.

An Intimate Ceremony with a Stunning View

The Sheltons chose a gorgeous Airbnb treehouse nestled in the mountains of East Tennessee as the setting for their special day. Surrounded by stunning natural beauty, their ceremony took place right on the grounds, under a majestic round rock archway. The arch provided a breathtaking backdrop, perfectly framing the surrounding mountains. It was a simple, yet elegant outdoor space that felt like a natural extension of the treehouse itself.

What made this wedding truly special was the intimacy of the event. With only close family and friends present, the Sheltons could focus on their love and connection. The couple exchanged vows in a relaxed, stress-free environment where the only sounds were the rustling trees and the occasional mountain breeze. The view? Absolutely nothing short of amazing—rolling mountains as far as the eye could see, offering a peaceful and private escape from the hustle and bustle.

East Tennessee’s Hidden Gem: The Airbnb Treehouse

While the mountains made for a stunning ceremony backdrop, the Airbnb treehouse added another layer of charm to the day. This unique venue is both secluded and easy to access, making it an ideal spot for couples who want the best of both worlds—privacy without the hassle of a long journey. The treehouse itself felt like something straight out of a storybook, with cozy spaces, rustic touches, and modern amenities.

The outdoor space was equally impressive. The patio featured outdoor showers and bathtubs, perfect for unwinding after the festivities. Guests could gather around the fire pit in the evening, adding to the cozy and relaxed atmosphere. This Airbnb offered all the comforts of a luxury getaway with the laid-back vibe of a mountain retreat—perfect for a wedding day that feels like a mini-vacation.

Why Choose an Airbnb Wedding in East Tennessee?

For couples considering an intimate elopement or wedding, East Tennessee is a hidden gem with so much to offer. The mountains provide a stunning natural setting that feels magical year-round, whether you’re planning a spring, summer, or fall wedding. With unique Airbnb options like treehouses, cabins, and mountain homes, there are countless venues that offer both charm and convenience.

The Sheltons’ treehouse wedding highlighted why this region is perfect for small, personal celebrations. Not only did they have access to an amazing venue with incredible views, but they also enjoyed the simplicity of having everything in one place. From the ceremony under the rock archway to the post-wedding relaxation by the fire pit, it was an easy-going and unforgettable day.

Planning Your Own East Tennessee Airbnb Wedding

If you’re thinking about planning your own elopement or small wedding, East Tennessee offers everything you need for a perfect day. With venues like the Sheltons’ Airbnb treehouse, you can have a wedding that is as beautiful as it is stress-free. Whether you envision an outdoor ceremony surrounded by mountains or an intimate gathering with just your closest loved ones, this region provides endless possibilities.

Consider the benefits of booking a unique Airbnb venue, like a treehouse or cabin, for your wedding day. Not only do these spaces offer stunning views and intimate settings, but they also allow you to stay close to nature while enjoying modern comforts.

The Sheltons’ wedding was a perfect example of how a small, intimate celebration in the mountains of East Tennessee can be filled with fun, beauty, and relaxation. If you're looking for a wedding day that's personal and picturesque, this might just be the perfect option for you!

Some of my favorite tips for planning a wedding or elopement at an Airbnb.

Planning a wedding at an Airbnb can create a beautiful, intimate experience, but it requires some careful consideration and extra planning. Here are a few tips to help ensure everything goes smoothly:

1. Check Airbnb’s Event Policy

  • Confirm with the host: Before booking, check with the Airbnb host to make sure they allow weddings or events on the property. Some Airbnbs have restrictions on the number of guests or types of events permitted.

  • Event fees: Some properties may charge an additional fee for hosting events, so be sure to clarify this in advance.

2. Visit the Venue in Person (if possible)

  • Familiarize yourself with the space: Take a tour of the Airbnb beforehand to get a feel for how the layout will work for your wedding. Look for potential ceremony spots, reception areas, and places for photography.

  • Logistics: Make sure there is enough parking for your guests, easy access for vendors, and proper facilities to accommodate everyone.

3. Limit Your Guest List

  • Intimate gatherings work best: Many Airbnbs aren’t equipped to handle large crowds. A small wedding or elopement with close family and friends will allow you to use the space more comfortably and avoid overwhelming the venue.

  • Be mindful of the capacity: Check the Airbnb’s maximum guest limit and ensure you adhere to it.

4. Plan for Rentals and Vendors

  • Bring what you need: Airbnb venues often don’t come with wedding essentials like chairs, tables, or decor, so you may need to rent these items separately.

  • Coordinate with vendors: Ensure that your caterer, florist, photographer, and other vendors know the property’s logistics, like parking and load-in times. Ask the host if they recommend any local vendors who are familiar with the venue.

5. Check for Necessary Amenities

  • Bathrooms and power: Make sure the Airbnb has enough bathrooms or space to bring in portable restrooms if needed. Also, check the power capacity for any DJ or lighting setups you may have.

  • Outdoor considerations: If the venue is outdoors, be sure to have a backup plan in case of rain, such as renting a tent or having indoor options.

6. Respect the Space and Leave it Clean

  • Follow house rules: Airbnb venues are often personal homes, so be respectful of the property. Follow the host’s house rules, and treat the space as if it were your own.

  • Plan for cleanup: Organize a plan to clean up after the event. You might need to hire a cleaning crew to ensure everything is left as it was when you arrived.

7. Consider Insurance

  • Event insurance: Look into purchasing event insurance to cover any potential damage to the property or accidents that may occur. Some Airbnb hosts may require this for events.

  • Host protection: Some Airbnb hosts may already have liability insurance in place, but double-check and make sure you are covered.

By following these tips, you can create a memorable, intimate wedding day at an Airbnb that blends personal touches with a unique venue!

Celebrating International Women's Day: Embracing Empowerment Through Boudoir Photography With Raine Studios.

Raine Studios in Elizabethton TN, talks about International Women’s Day and how booking a Boudoir Session in the month of March can be Celebrated and why.

East Tennessee Boudoir Photographer, Boudoir In Tennessee, Boudoir Photographer, East Coast Boudoir Experience, Boudoir In Elizabethton TN, Johnson City Boudoir, Knoxville Boudoir, Asheville Boudoir.

As International Women's Day approaches, the world once again turns its focus to the achievements, struggles, and empowerment of women everywhere. It's a time to celebrate the progress made towards gender equality and to reflect on the work that still lies ahead. In recent years, the celebration of International Women's Day has evolved to encompass various forms of empowerment and self-expression, including the celebration of femininity through boudoir photography.

The Concept of Boudoir Photography: Boudoir photography has emerged as a powerful tool for women to embrace and celebrate their bodies, sensuality, and self-confidence. Rooted in the French word "boudoir," meaning a woman's private sitting room or dressing room, boudoir photography captures intimate and tasteful images that celebrate the beauty and individuality of women.

Booking a Boudoir Session: A Celebration of Self-Love and Empowerment: During the month of March, as we honor the achievements and contributions of women worldwide, booking a boudoir session can be a meaningful way to celebrate femininity, self-love, and empowerment. Here's why:

  1. Embracing Self-Confidence: Boudoir photography provides an opportunity for women to embrace their bodies, regardless of shape, size, or age. Through the lens of a skilled photographer, women are encouraged to celebrate their unique beauty and cultivate a sense of self-confidence that transcends societal norms and expectations.

  2. Empowering Personal Expression: A boudoir session is more than just taking photographs; it's an act of self-expression and empowerment. Women have the freedom to choose their wardrobe, poses, and themes, allowing them to express their individuality and personality in front of the camera.

  3. Celebrating Womanhood: International Women's Day is a celebration of womanhood in all its forms. Booking a boudoir session during this time is a celebration of femininity, strength, and resilience. It's an acknowledgment of the journey that women have undertaken to reclaim their bodies and their voices in a world that often seeks to define and confine them.

  4. Honoring Personal Growth: For many women, booking a boudoir session represents a milestone in their journey towards self-acceptance and self-love. It's a tangible reminder of how far they've come and a celebration of the personal growth and empowerment they've achieved along the way.

As we commemorate International Women's Day this March, let us embrace the spirit of empowerment, self-love, and celebration. Booking a boudoir session is not just about capturing beautiful photographs; it's about embracing the essence of womanhood and honoring the strength, resilience, and beauty that resides within each and every woman. So, let us celebrate International Women's Day by celebrating ourselves and each other, and by embracing the power and beauty of being a woman.

The Kings Centre Venue, Johnson City Tennessee.

Johnson City Tennessee, Wedding Venues in East Tennessee, City Wedding Venue, Wedding Photographer, Elopement Photographer in Tennessee, The Kings Centre Johnson City.

Kelsey and Jeremy had the perfect Spring wedding, they got ready at a family venue called Meredith Valley, and then moved the ceremony and reception to The Kings Centre, a super modern venue with beautiful brick and hardwood floors with plenty of natural light in the heart of Downtown Johnson City.

The aisle was lined with baby’s breath, and the arch was decorated with it as well, these two had an amazing ceremony surrounded with so much love from their loved ones. The ceremony area was divided from the reception area, and everything blended so so well. We took tons of couples photo before the ceremony since they did a first look and exchanged gifts at the family farm venue.

Congrats to The Hodges!

The Palkovics had one of my favorite wedding days of 2023! They started with a Catholic Ceremony, with a reception following at The Barn at Sycamore Farms.( I had never shot at this venue before but woah woah I learned to love it so much! )

The barn has this HUGE gorgeous chandelier in the middle of the room, ( pictured below ) and it is the perfect spot for those first dances and parent dances! It is the showstopper of the venue! The outside is just as perfect, a pond with a water show, and tons of cute nooks to take those couples photos!

The Palkovics partied all night as long as they could the weekend before Halloween! There were little details with the dessert table that screamed Halloween vibes and everyone loved it!

Chautauqua Park Engagment Session, Boulder Colorado.

eloping in Boulder Colorado, Boulder Colorado elopement photographer, engagement session in Chautauqua Park, elopement ceremony, intimate elopement, Chautauqua Park engagement session,Flatirons. Tennessee Wedding photographer. Colorado Wedding Photographer. Boulder Wedding Photographer.

I wanted to re edit and of course blog this golden and blue hour engagment session from my trip to Boulder! Lois and Matt were so fun to work with and brought all the heat to their engagment session! This was a first time Chautauqua Park for me, and I fell in love. What a great park for pretty much anything, an elopement, a picnic, engagment session or just a simple walk.

We started taking photos at the base of the park so we could get all of the dreamy golden hour vibes and then we drove to the top and Matt knew a pull off where all of these rocks were that were easily accessible, and overlooked more mountains. This was where the blue hour photos were!

Are you thinking of eloping at Chautauqua Park? Here are some things to consider!

Pick a weekday or super early time on the weekend to avoid crowds. There are probably hundreds of people that visit this park a day! So you have to be okay with it not being super private even if you are off of a trail.

Leave No Trace. This goes for anywhere you are eloping, whether it is Colorado or Florida. Be respectful of the land and hikers. Anything you bring with you to the elopement, make sure it makes it way back down after the elopement. Here is a link to more Leave No Trace Principles.

I don’t even know where to start with this wedding! There was not a dry eye the entire day, even mine. Audrey and Zack had the perfect day at A Simple Life Venue in Elizabethton. The details, the decor, the weather everything was perfect and you could tell they really worked for this to be the best day.

A Simple Life is nestled away on the Backroads of Elizabethton Tennessee. It consists of older cabins that have been refurbished along with an amphitheater, a covered concrete patio as well! The owners are the nicest, and love to be involved as much as they can! This place is also super affordable which is always a great thing for a wedding venue!

Audrey and Zack got ready in separate cabins, they had their ceremony on the amphitheater and the reception under the covered patio with tables under and outside of it! There’s also the perfect hilltop to take photos before or after the ceremony! Its a short walk to the top with an open space and tall trees!

Audrey and Zack have so so much love for each other and it is very noticeable even throughout the day, Zack sang a song during the reception to Audrey and everyone was crying, the little details that were around the venue really captured them as individuals, and as a couple.

A Fall and Rainy Wedding at The Ridges at Deer Run in Mountain City. Raine Studios.

East Tennessee Wedding Photographer. Mountain City Wedding Venues. The Ridges at Deer Run. Tennessee Wedding Photographer. Tennessee Wedding and Elopement Photographer. Fall Wedding in the Mountains.

Tallia and Dakota got married last Fall at this AMAZING venue with a view. The rain was with us all day and the ceremony was nothing but mist thankfully!

The Ridges at Deer Run is nestled away in the heart of Mountain City Tennessee, and the views are immaculate. The venue features a 3 story home to get ready in with plenty of room for bridal parties, along with a wooden pavilion overlooking the mountain view, plus a covered patio area for the reception!

During the ceremony, it was misty for the entire time and the view was nothing but foggy mountains, but it was beautiful. Hey they do say rain on your wedding day is good luck!

The colors and vibes for this wedding day was one of my favorites from last year, the bridal party was in all black, with touches of reds, greens, and some Fall colors!

Bristol TN,Tesla + William’s Lakeside Engagment Session At South Houston Lake.

A Golden Hour Engagment Session at South Houston Dam, in Bristol Tennessee.

East Tennessee Wedding Photographer. Bristol TN Engagment Session. Lakeside Engagment. Tennessee Wedding and Elopement Photographer. East TN Couples Photography. Engagement Photos in East Tennessee.

These two are tying the knot this Fall at The Barn At Boone Falls and I couldn’t be more excited for them!

Tesla and William originally wanted to go to the top of South Holston Dam, but the road was closed for the top! No worries though, the area is so beautiful at golden hour. We parked and decided to take these on the side of the road with tall grass, and the lake right beside of us. It was perfect. Plenty of bugs, but we made it through.

We had the most beautiful golden hour sunset, and rolled around in the grass and definitely got bit by a few bugs, but the tall grass, their outfits and the sun made for the perfect session. We wanted to incorporate some water into their engagment session since we decided not to do it at their wedding venue. We did have to reschedule once because of the rain, but hey that’s East Tennessee for you right?

I truly love, love and capturing it outside during golden hour and if there’s tons of greenery and pretty skies. Something about those things together always turn out for the best, and I am so glad this lovely couple chose me for their special day!

The Farm on Pemberton, Bristol Tennessee, The Hunts wedding.

The Farm on Pemberton Summer Wedding, Bristol Tennessee.

East Tennessee Summer Wedding, Bristol Tennessee. The Farm on Pemberton. East Coast Weddings and Elopements. Tennessee Wedding and Elopement Photographer.

So so many good things I could say about The Hunts and their wedding day! It was perfect! Between the weather, the people, the details and the venue! I think these two had been waiting for what seemed forever to get married, and they were surrounded with nothing but love on their big day.

The Farm on Pemberton is this beautiful property nestled away in Bristol Tennessee, tons of farm land surrounding it, with amazing views. They have quite a few options for ceremony and reception areas, the bridal area where the girls get ready is so homey and comforting, and air conditioned, which you would probably be surprised on how many venues I have been to that haven’t had AC!

Their stunning barn is two levels and the bottom is perfect for the dancing, dj and cake! They have a second bar, where dinner can be held or the ceremony! So many options.

The Hunts decided to have their ceremony overlooking some of the fields, where the sun was behind them, they had an arch courtesy of the farm with Edison bulbs hanging from it! Also I am such a fan of the bench seating instead of chairs! I think from a photographers perspective it looks more intimate than chairs outside!

The Hunts wanted to do a first look together but there was a surprise element to that! The best man had found a wedding dress that sorta fit, and put it on to trick the groom! This was a fun moment and set the mood for the day honestly.

New Years Eve Downtown Nashville Elopement.

Downtown nashville elopement, how to elope in nashville, nashville wedding photographer, east coast elopement, elope in nashville

New Years Eve Downtown Nashville Elopement. Tennessee Wedding and Elopement Photographer. East Coast Elopements. Nashville Wedding and Elopement Photographer.

Ashley and Tyler and I met in a wedding Facebook group, and they were looking to Elope in Nashville and needed a photographer! I immediately hopped on this as soon as I saw the post hoping they would see me, I love love a good downtown elopement, and on New Years Eve in Nashville? Absolutely!

Finding out why they decided to elope in Nashville is honestly one of the best love stories I think I have heard. Apparently, Tyler tried to propose two or three times and Ashley thought he was joking, which honestly that would be me. They made one last trip to Nashville and went to the Jack Daniels Distillery, did some tastings and took some shots, and Ashley asked Tyler to marry her. He of course said yes, and they incorporated Jack Daniels into their Elopement!

We all met on the Nashville Pedestrian Bridge, Tyler hadn’t seen Ashley at all, so we did a first look on the bridge. It was super sweet even with all of the people around, including the multiple proposals I saw happening!

We found a little spot overlooking some of the city on the bridge, they thankfully brought some umbrellas and laid them out so we could have a little privacy during the ceremony! It was a sweet and simple ceremony that ended with some SHOTS! Tyler and Ashley along with me and their few guests all took a shot of whiskey in honor of them. I really don’t remember them looking away from each other at all during the ceremony which I think just sort of tells how much they love each other.

The ceremony ended and we took a few sunset shots on the bridge, they brought along some biodegradable confetti canons so we faked a little wedding exit, and then headed to Broadway!

Tyler and Ashley ended up having their first dance in a local bar on Broadway, we took some photos around the fountain, and then walked Broadway some more and took photos wherever they wanted whether that was Miranda Lamberts Bar \ restaurant, or in the middle of the busy Broadway street. We just had fun until they had to leave for their dinner reservation!

The Homeplace at Johnston Farms

Fall wedding at The Homeplace at Johnston Farms in Greenville Tennessee. | Johnson City Tennessee wedding and elopement photographer. | East Tennessee Wedding Photographer.

Chloe and Austin got married in the Fall of 2022, at The Homeplace in Greenville, and it was the perfect day.

If you haven’t seen The Homeplace before, the views are so amazing, especially from the ceremony site but all around the property as well.

The decor Chloe and Austin picked suited them so well, the colors were immaculate and honestly some of my favorites to photograph especially up against the dark wood the barn has. The teal bridesmaid dresses were my favorite detail, that is one of my favorite colors to photograph!

There was a little bit of rain, which they say is good luck on your wedding day, but the sun came out full blast during the ceremony at the perfect time. I love a good overcast for photos outside when it is the middle of the day! We got lucky! They decided to do a first look, so they could focus more on spending time with guests and really enjoying their day.

We took portraits upstairs in the barn off of this beautiful porch overlooking the ceremony site, those and the vibrant sunset photos are my absolute favorite. I really enjoyed being apart of their big day. I love love love my job! Hope you enjoy looking at these photos as much as I enjoyed taking them!

Charleston South Carolina Engagement Session; Taylor + Merandah

Spring engagement session in Charleston South Carolina | Folly Beach | East Coast Wedding photographer based in Johnson City Tennessee.

same sex engagement session. Charleston wedding photographer, folly beach engagement session, savannah wedding, savannah engagement, how to elope in charleston, how to get married in charleston

What is better than an engagement session at the beach?! This session with Taylor and Merandah was so perfect. We had perfect weather and perfect golden sunshine, and the beach wasn’t crowded!

Taylor and Merandah are actually planning their wedding in Pennsylvania in the Fall of 2023, and they asked if I could take their engagement photos at the beach! They travelled over 11 hours, stayed locally and made a week vacation out of it. They are so fun, and full of laughs and love. We actually started taking photos at Cypress Gardens in Moncks Corner, South Carolina. Taylor wanted to surprise Merandah by taking a few photos where some of The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks was filmed, we hopped on a canoe and did the 45 minute paddle around the swamp, we all were a fan of the friends in the water too, so we had tons of fun spotting them out, and getting almost stuck a few times in the canoe. After we had taken some around the gardens, it was time to leave and head to the beach!

We hadn’t originally planned this, but we got to Cypress Gardens a little late, so we opted for some beach pics! Taylor made the cutest matching jackets, and they both had cute outfits picked out! I think oceanside pictures are some of my favorite, also completely random, but did I mention they are getting married on Friday the 13th!? How sick is that?

Anyways, enjoy a little peek into their engagement session and hopefully this will spring some inspiration into you!
